Collinsville is a small town of 1,500 people located about 70 miles north of Dallas. Around the time it became a town, Collinsville formed Texas' first "free" school. The school was started by Mrs. Lodoweska Collins in a one-room log cabin and the town was named after that family. Collinsville has remained a small, quiet town over the years, but is starting to see a lot of growth and looks forward to the future.
